The Symposium on “New Measures for Students Recruitment—Construction and Pattern Analysis of Online Recruitment Platform from AT0086” Held Successfully in Beijing


Being one of the International Students Mobility Forum topic,the symposium on “New Measures for Students Recruitment—Construction and Pattern Analysis of Online Recruitment Platform from AT0086” was well-received on October 26, 2014 in National Conference Center in Beijing. This forum was divided into 3 sectors: Topic on how to construct comprehensive students recruiting English website to enhance reputation and competitiveness of Chinese universities;Topic on how to shape image and branding through Network;Topic on how to scale up the number of International students in China via effectively usage of online recruiting strategy.

This symposium was hosted by Li Bing, the vice president of International Communication and Cooperation Section of Beijing Foreign Studies University. Around 50 participants were present and 4 guests were invited for presentation on the experience sharing of construction of English website for students recruiting. Xiong Juan, one of the 4 representative speakers from AT0086 Study Abroad in China, the Operation Director of AT0086 and the chairwoman of Study Abroad in China Research Center,light up the conference hall through her impressive speech and the ingenious viewpoints.

Ms.Xiong profoundly analyzed the approach for effectively usage of online platform to attract more International students to study in China. She pointed out that the website construction should emphasize on the following 6 key points to attract overseas students: the school features and preponderant programs,the fast tracking channels for application and detailed introduction on scholarship as well as the information on on-arrival registration and the surrounding environment of campus. Besides, the school needs to focus on promotion work through social network, institution marketing, advertising articles, school rankings and the Web improvement for their users' experiences.

Ms.Xiong also expressed her view and suggestions on students’ application procedure and registration process: classification and simplification. Through the case study, audiences were totally impressed by the usage of International phone card and tip card on arrival address.


The CEO of China Global Education Service, Richard Coward, also shared his own experience in study in China and expressed his point of view in terms of website construction: simplify the content, avoid Chinglish and provide effective information on website.


Every topic has equipped with a segment for questions & answers, all the participants took active role in the segment. The symposium enjoyed a warm and solemn atmosphere on that day.
